J.N.N Vidyallaya has partnered with Cambridge English, an affiliate of Cambridge University, U.K, to offer their YLE, KET & PET exams to all our students from Grade I to VII. This partnership with Cambridge English reinforces our commitment towards imparting and improving the language of all our students.

Cambridge English: Young Learners English (YLE)

Cambridge English:Young Learners is a series of fun, motivating English language tests, aimed at children from Grades I to V. There are three activity-based tests – Starters, Movers and Flyers. This gives students a clear path to improve in English.

The tests offer natural progression towards other Cambridge build up confidence in English step by step. The tests are aligned with the Common European international standard for describing language ability.

Cambridge English: Key English Test (KET)

A Cambridge English: Key (KET) qualification is proof of your ability to use English to communicate in simple situations. KET is offered for students from Grade VI. The exam tests all four English language skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking.

A Cambridge English: KET qualification shows that you can:

  • Understand and use basic phrases and expressions
  • Understand simple written English
  • Introduce yourself and answer basic questions about yourself
  • Interact with English speakers at a basic level

Cambridge English: Preliminary English Test (PET)

A Cambridge English: Preliminary (PET) qualification shows that you have mastered the basics of English and now have practical language skills for everyday use. PET is offered for students from Grade VII. The exam tests all four English language skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking.

A Cambridge English: PET qualification shows that you can:

  • Read simple textbooks and articles in English
  • Write letters and emails on everyday subjects
  • Take meeting notes
  • Show awareness of opinions and mood in spoken and written English

All Cambridge English exams are aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) - the international standard for describing language ability.
